Sigulda Hospital has completed the renovation of the 3rd Care Unit, which has provided the hospital with modern and renovated premises, suitable for patients with reduced mobility and equipped with modern equipment. The works were carried out with the support of the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the project “Renovation of Sigulda Hospital Healthcare Infrastructure”.
The wards are equipped with 25 new, high-functionality, wheeled patient beds and high-functionality patient lockers, which are also easy to use for sleeping patients. Sliding doors have been installed in wards and sanitary facilities to facilitate wheelchair access for patients. All wards have a central oxygen supply, allowing the connection of oxygen masks and breathing apparatus, so that the patient can be assisted if necessary without having to be transferred to another room. Several wards are equipped with special showers and facilities for people with reduced mobility. The ward is also equipped with four mobile vital signs monitors to monitor patients’ breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Handrails are placed along the edges of the walls in the corridor to allow patients with reduced mobility to move around more safely. In addition, the ward is equipped with external, electrically adjustable blinds on the sunny side, and the ventilation system has been renovated with special filters with ozonation and bipolar ionisation, thus inhibiting the growth of viruses, bacteria and diseases.
Total project implementation costs €770,650, including €655,052.50 from the European Regional Development Fund, €69,358.50 from the national budget and €46,239.00 from private contributions.
