Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure performed with special instruments – a laparoscope – which allows access to the abdominal cavity to carry out the necessary operation. A laparoscope is a narrow telescope with a light guide, inserted into the abdominal cavity through small skin incisions (1-2 cm). After the operation, the skin is closed with sutures. Post-operatively, you may experience dull pain in the lower abdomen, minor bloody discharge for up to 2 weeks, and anesthesia side effects (e.g., nausea, vomiting). Painkillers can be used if needed. After the procedure, you should not drive a car, lift heavy objects, or take a hot bath.

Hysteroscopy is a procedure that uses a narrow, telescope-like tube (3-5 mm in diameter) to visualize the uterine cavity. This narrow telescope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. Pathology of the uterine cavity is visualized on the screen, and it can be removed or a sample can be taken from the uterine cavity. The fallopian tube openings can also be evaluated.
