Neurography
When should neurography and/or electromyography be performed? Muscle wasting and weakness. This can be a manifestation of various muscle, nerve, digestive, and metabolic diseases. Always consult a therapist and a neurologist to evaluate for other disease symptoms, to determine if all or some muscles are affected, and if EMG is required. Tel: (+371) 67976946
About the service
Neurography and electromyography are neurophysiological diagnostic methods that evaluate the nerve impulse conduction velocity along peripheral nerve fibers, the functional state of the nerve-muscle synapse, the peripheral motoneuron, and muscle health.
Neurography is the determination of impulse conduction velocity along peripheral nerve motor and sensory fibers, performed by bipolar, percutaneous nerve stimulation with electrical current.
Electromyography is a method of recording muscle biopotentials using needle electrodes, both while the patient is at rest and during muscle-activating movements.
The service is fully covered by the PATIENT.
This examination is performed by Certified Neurologist-Neurophysiologist Dr. Līga Liepiņa. Hours: By appointment.
