Art Therapy
In art therapy, individuals are invited to draw, paint, sculpt from clay or plasticine, create collages from images, or find other suitable forms of artistic expression for their thoughts, feelings, and needs. Art therapy utilizes both words and the non-verbal "language" of art.
About the service
Art therapy groups for adults:
“Healing Trauma in Art Therapy” – for post-traumatic stress, after psychological traumas, including those experienced in childhood (loss, abuse, and domestic violence). Art therapy is based on the intervention protocol Healing Trauma in Art Therapy (Trauma Treatment through Art Therapy), developed by a working group led by experienced art therapist Paola Luzzatto, PhD, in collaboration with the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. The protocol includes six psychological needs: emotion regulation; relationships; self-identity/self-esteem; gradual approach to trauma according to individual capabilities; trauma integration into life; and personal resources.
“Creative Journey in Art Therapy” – for psychological well-being after physical traumas and for oncology patients in remission, when psychological issues remain unresolved, including the need to adapt one’s self-identity to a different outlook on life. Art therapy is based on the intervention protocol Creative Journey (Creative Journey), developed by experienced art therapists Paola Luzzatto, PhD, and Bonnie Gabriel in New York, USA. The aim of the art therapy protocol is to promote self-expression and offer a transformative experience. Experience and research show that this art therapy protocol helps regain self-confidence and adjust one’s self-identity after diagnosis and treatment trauma.
